The Perth Test witnessed a thrilling moment when India’s rising star Dhruv Jurel took a brilliant catch of Mitchell Starc. The catch, which came just before tea time, proved to be very decisive in the outcome of the match.
What happened on the ground?
Starc played a shot off Washington Sundar that went straight to Jurel at short leg. The ball was going fast behind him, but Jurel, showing a quick reflex like lightning, caught the ball in the air with his right hand. The catch was so brilliant that the entire team rushed to congratulate Jurel.
Mitchell Starc and Alex Carey added 45 runs for the first wicket. Both the Indian bowlers struggled. But Jurel’s catch not only broke the partnership but also brought India closer to victory.

Dhruv Jurel’s career
Dhruv Jurel is basically a wicketkeeper-batsman. Jurel, who made his Test debut against England earlier this year, won the Player of the Match award in just his second match. However, in this match, he is playing only as a batsman and could not score many runs in both innings.
Rohit Sharma will return to lead the side in the second Test. In such a situation, Jurel may have to sit out considering the team combination. With Rohit coming in, there will be a change in the batting order and KL Rahul will bat at number six.
Cricket experts are of the view that he is the future of Indian cricket. His batting and bowling are excellent. At present, he is the backup of Rishabh Pant in the team. He had performed well in the recent series against Australia A, due to which he got a chance in this match.
