Ahead of IPL 2025, Afghanistan’s star all-rounder Azmatullah Umarzai’s joining the team was postponed for a few days, which increased the concern of Punjab Kings.

It is worth noting that Umarzai will not be able to join the team right now due to his personal work.
According to the information, most of the players of Punjab Kings have reached Dharamsala on Monday (March 17) and have started training. But Umarzai will be able to join the team only by March 21. This means that he will join the camp only four days before the team’s first match.
Umarzai, who has been in great form for the last one and a half years, has recently become the first Afghan cricketer to win the ICC ODI Player of the Year title. Both his batting and bowling have been amazing, due to which Punjab Kings included him in their team.
However, fans do not need to worry too much as Punjab Kings also have other good all-rounders. The team has South Africa’s Marco Jansen, who was recently instrumental in making his team the champion in the SA20 League. He has won this title twice in three seasons.
Apart from this, Australia’s star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is also part of the team, who has also played for Punjab before. Maxwell is known for his explosive batting and clever bowling.
Punjab Kings will play their first match against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on March 25. This year the team is led by Shreyas Iyer, while Australian legend Ricky Ponting is the head coach.
