    Roger Binny will leave his job as BCCI President soon. He turns 70 years old on July 19, 2025. Cricket board rules say presidents must retire at 70. Rajeev Shukla will take over as the new interim president.

    The BCCI has strict age rules for its leaders. No president can work after turning 70 years old. These rules help bring fresh ideas to Indian cricket. Binny knew this day would come when he started.

    Roger Binny became BCCI President in October 2022. He replaced Sourav Ganguly in that important role. Binny worked hard to improve cricket across India. His leadership brought many good changes to the game.

    India won big tournaments under Binny’s guidance as president. The team lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup trophy. They also won the 2025 Champions Trophy recently. These victories made Indian cricket fans very happy.

    Binny started the Women’s Premier League during his time. This tournament gave female cricketers better opportunities to shine. More girls now want to play cricket professionally. The WPL became very popular across the country.

    Domestic cricket also got better under Binny’s leadership. Players now earn more money for their performances. The payment system became fairer for everyone involved. Young cricketers feel more motivated to play seriously.

    Rajeev Shukla will become the interim president next month. He currently works as BCCI Vice President since December 2020. Shukla knows cricket administration very well from his experience.

    Shukla used to run the Indian Premier League successfully. He managed that job until 2018 with great skill. The IPL grew bigger under his smart leadership. Players and fans loved his work style.

    The politician also serves as a Rajya Sabha member. He represents the Congress party in Parliament meetings. Recently, Shukla joined the Asian Cricket Council’s executive board.

    Binny’s Amazing Cricket Career

    Most people remember Binny from India’s 1983 World Cup win. He took 18 wickets in that historic tournament. No other bowler took more wickets than him. That victory changed Indian cricket forever.

    Binny played 27 Test matches for India between 1979-1987. He also played 72 ODI games during his career. After retiring, he helped Karnataka cricket grow stronger. He also worked as a national selector.

    Roger Binny to Step Down as BCCI President marks an important change. The board will hold elections in September 2025. Members will choose a permanent president then. Until that time, Shukla will handle all responsibilities.

    Indian cricket will keep growing under new leadership. The foundation Binny built remains very strong. Future presidents will continue their good work for cricket.
