India’s Under-19 team got the perfect start to their Asia Cup 2025 campaign, thanks to a stunning innings from young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
The 14-year-old produced one of the finest knocks in youth cricket, scoring a brilliant 171 off 95 balls against UAE at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.

A Dominant Start from the Young Opener
India were asked to bat first, but any early nerves faded quickly once Suryavanshi settled in.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi began confidently, finding boundaries with ease and rotating the strike smartly.
His half-century came in just 30 balls, signalling the kind of intent he had for the day.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued to attack the UAE bowlers and brought up his century in only 56 deliveries, a sign of complete control and confidence.
The Record-Breaking Knock
As the innings progressed, the young opener shifted gears even further.
He smashed nine fours and 14 sixes, making it extremely difficult for UAE to contain him.
Those 14 sixes set a new Youth ODI world record, the most ever hit by a batter in a single Under-19 innings.
His 171 also became the second-highest score by an Indian in Under-19 one-day cricket, just behind Ambati Rayudu’s 177*.
India Post a Massive Total
Thanks to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s incredible knock, India piled up a huge 433 for 6 in 50 overs in Asia Cup.
His teammates supported him well, but it was clearly his innings that shaped the match.
With such a big score on the board, India were always in control.

UAE struggled to keep up with the required rate and eventually fell well short of the target.
India bowled with discipline and completed a 234-run victory to open their Asia Cup campaign on a strong note.
