BCCI i.e. Board of Control for Cricket in India is now looking for a new way to earn more by saying goodbye to Dream11. The board has planned a big sponsorship deal of Rs 450 crore from 2025 to 2028.

The new law of the Government of India which is taking strict action on online gaming. After that, this opportunity is like a golden chance for the board, because the old partner Dream11 is now out.
Last year, Dream11 replaced Byju’s and made a deal of 358 crores. But now everything changed with the passing of the ‘Online Gaming Bill’.
The government banned money-based online games, due to which Dream11 had to leave Team India’s jersey sponsorship.
Now BCCI has to quickly find a new sponsor, especially before the Asia Cup 2025 which is starting in the UAE from September 9.
BCCI’s new deal
BCCI now wants a new deal for 140 matches, which will be 25% more than Dream11. This will include home and away bilateral matches, plus ACC and ICC multi-team tournaments.
The NDTV report says, “NDTV sources confirmed that BCCI now wants to get a sponsor for 140 matches from 2025 to 2028. This will be a better contract compared to the payment made by Dream11 to the board. This sponsorship will be for home and away bilateral matches as well as multi-team tournaments organised by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and International Cricket Council (ICC).”
The BCCI’s target is to earn Rs 3.5 crore from each bilateral match, and Rs 1.5 crore per game from ICC-ACC matches.
The report also says, “BCCI can get Rs. 3.5 crore for each of India’s estimated 140 bilateral matches. The expected revenue per game for multi-national tournaments hosted by ICC and ACC is Rs. 1.5 crore.”
This is more than Dream11, but slightly less than Byju’s old deal. Dream11 had given 3 crores for domestic matches and 1 crore for foreign matches but now everything has stopped.
