This will be the first time a mega auction will be held, and that too in Delhi on November 27th. Imagine, 277 players will compete for just 73 slots.

Marquee Set Led by Deepti Sharma and Renuka Thakur
Only 23 foreign players can be included in this auction. And most interestingly, two Indian stars, Deepti Sharma and Renuka Thakur, are among the marquee set.
Sharma, who recently won the World Cup Player of the Tournament, seems poised to break records. Her base price is ₹50 lakh, while Renuka has set a price of ₹40 lakh.
The rest of the marquee includes names like New Zealand’s Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr, Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Mig Lanning, England’s Sophie Ecclestone, and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt.
Wolvaardt has set a base price of just ₹30 lakh, the lowest. This trade is sure to make the WPL 2026 even more exciting.
UP Warriors Shock with Retention Strategy
Now let’s talk retention. UP Warriors pulled off a big surprise, they retained only Shweta Sehrawat and released big names like Deepti Sharma, Healy, and Ecclestone.
However, they have the largest purse of ₹14.50 crore, along with RTM cards. So, they might bring Sharma back to the trade.
Deepti has scored 507 runs and taken 27 wickets in 25 matches in the WPL, which speaks volumes about her value.
Renuka Thakur, who was released from RCB, was also part of the World Cup-winning team. She has taken 13 wickets in 23 matches.
On the other hand, Gujarat Giants have ₹9 crore remaining, RCB ₹6.15 crore, MI ₹5.75 crore, and DC ₹5.70 crore. MI and DC retained five players each, so they don’t have the RTM option.
List of Star Players: From Harleen Deol to Radha Yadav
Harleen Deol, who was part of the World Cup-winning team, dropped out of the GG but has set a base price of ₹50 lakh in the all-rounder category. Radha Yadav and Sneh Rana listed themselves at ₹30 lakh.
Uma Chettri and Kranti Goud also placed ₹50 lakh in the top category. These names will be up for grabs in the WPL 2026 auction.
Fast bowlers like Renuka Thakur and all-rounders like Sharma could prove to be game-changers for the teams.
This auction for WPL 2026 will mark a new beginning, with teams building their strengths. All eyes will be on these bids on November 27th in Delhi.
Deepti Sharma is expected to be the highest bidder, and Renuka Thakur will be no less.
Overall, with a purse of ₹41.1 crore and a wealth of talent, this season is set to be a blockbuster.
