A sad event happened in Pahalgam recently. A tragic terror attack on innocent people there. 28 people lost their lives in this attack. This terrorist attack in Pahalgam made India very upset.

India decided to cut some ties with Pakistan. Many Indian cricket stars spoke against playing with Pakistan. Some Pakistani players felt sad about the attack too. But Shahid Afridi said something that made Indians angry.
Shahid Afridi blamed the Indian Army for the attack. He called them “useless” and “not good at their job.” His words hurt many Indian feelings. Shahid Afridi should not have said such mean things.
“Tum logon ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log ki security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an 8,00,000-strong army in Kashmir and this still happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you couldn’t provide security to the people).”
Shikhar Dhawan Stands Up
Shikhar Dhawan did not stay quiet after hearing Afridi’s words. He reminded Shahid Afridi about the Kargil war. India had won that war against Pakistan years ago. Shikhar Dhawan asked Afridi to focus on fixing his own country.
Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao @SAfridiOfficial. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!
Shahid Afridi ‘Chai’ Comment
Shahid Afridi then made a very rude reply to Shikhar Dhawan. He invited Dhawan for “chai” (tea). This was not a friendly invite at all. Shahid Afridi was making fun of when an Indian pilot was caught.
Chouro jeet haar ko , aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar . #FantasticTea
The pilot was given tea while being filmed. Pakistan used this video to mock India. Shahid Afridi brought up this bad memory on purpose. His words show he doesn’t want peace between the countries.
The Bigger Problem
This fight between Shikhar Dhawan and Shahid Afridi shows a sad truth. Cricket used to bring people from both countries together. Now even cricket stars are fighting with mean words. The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has made things worse.
Shikhar Dhawan tried to defend his country’s honor. Shahid Afridi chose to make things worse with his tea comment. The path to friendship between the cricket teams seems very far now.
