Indian cricket’s rising star Nitish Kumar Reddy is in trouble these days. First Yash Dayal’s legal trouble made headlines, and now Nitish is also embroiled in a major controversy.
But this case is not of sexual abuse like Yash, but of money transactions. Nitish’s former agent has accused him of not paying dues of Rs 5 crore.

What is the whole matter?
Nitish’s former agent, Square The One Private Limited, has filed a petition against him in the Delhi High Court.
The agency says that Nitish broke the management agreement with them and did not pay an amount of more than Rs 5 crore.
This dispute started when Nitish left his old agency and signed a contract with a new manager during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The agency told the court, “We facilitated multiple brand endorsements and commercial partnerships for Nitish since 2021.”
But Nitish claims, “I secured all these deals myself.”
Nitish flatly refused to pay a single penny to the agency. A source of India Today told,
“90 percent of such disputes get settled privately, but in this case, Nitish has refused to pay anything, claiming he secured the deals himself.”
The matter will be heard in the court on July 28, where the decision to appoint an independent arbitrator will be taken.
Injury shattered cricket dream
Before the legal dispute, Nitish also suffered a setback in cricket. Recently, he was ruled out of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England due to a knee injury.
This injury, which he sustained during mobility training in the gym, damaged his ligament.
As a result, he could not play the last two Test matches. Earlier, he had performed well with both bat and ball in the Birmingham and Lord’s Tests. At Lord’s, he scored 30 and 13 runs and also took 3 wickets.
At present, Nitish’s career is still in its early stages, and this double blow of legal and injury can create problems for him.
