Pakistan defeated the UAE by 41 runs in a Group A match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

The match was so thrilling that fans couldn’t stop their heartbeats. Batting first, Pakistan scored 146 runs in 20 overs, but the UAE were bowled out for just 105.

Pakistan had a poor start. Sam Ayub was out for zero, and Sahibzada Farhan managed just 5 runs. But then Fakhar Zaman did wonders.

He smashed 50 runs off 36 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Captain Agha Salman scored 20 runs, but the real star was Shaheen Afridi. He scored 29 runs off 14 balls to take the team to a respectable score.

UAE’s Junaid Siddiqui starred, taking 4 wickets, while Simranjit Singh Kang took 3.

Now it was UAE’s turn to bat. Opener Alishan Sharafu scored 12 runs but was bowled by Shaheen Afridi. Captain Waseem Muhammad made 14 runs but was dismissed by Abrar Ahmed.

Mohammad Zohaib Khan was dismissed for just 4 runs. Rahul Chopra top-scored with 35 runs, and Dhruv Parashar added 20, but the rest of the batsmen failed.

Pakistan’s bowling saw Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf take two wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed also took two. UAE were all out in 17.4 overs.

This victory is a strong start for Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Fakhar Zaman’s half-century and Shaheen’s late finishing made the match one-sided.
