India defeated Sri Lanka in the Super Over in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai to secure a resounding victory.
Both teams scored 202 runs in 20 overs, leading to the Super Over.
India bundled out Sri Lanka for just 2 runs in the Super Over and secured victory by scoring 3 runs.

India’s explosive performance
Abhishek Sharma played a blistering innings of 61 runs in 31 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes. Tilak Varma scored 49, and Sanju Samson scored 39.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, and Dushmantha Chameera took 1 wicket each for Sri Lanka, but the Indian batsmen maintained the run rate until the last over.
In bowling, Arshdeep Singh performed brilliantly in the Super Over, taking 2 wickets to put Sri Lanka on the back foot.
Sri Lanka’s Batting and Super Over Drama
Pathum Nissanka played a blistering innings of 107 runs for Sri Lanka, including 7 fours and 6 sixes. Kusal Perera also scored 58 runs, helping Sri Lanka post 202 runs and give India a tough fight.
Indian bowlers Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy took 1 wicket each. Sri Lanka had a poor start in the Super Over, losing Kusal Perera and Dasun Shanaka on the very first ball.
India easily achieved the target thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 3 runs.
With this victory, India will now face Pakistan in the final on September 28th.
