The second match of the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four is underway in Dubai, and Pakistan scored 171 runs in 20 overs in the first innings.
India won the toss and elected to bowl first, and so far, the decision seems to be a good one.
Pakistan’s batting showed some spark, but India’s bowlers prevented them from scoring a big total.

Sahibzada Farhan’s explosive innings
Pakistan got off to a quick start with Fakhar Zaman’s 15 runs, but Hardik Pandya quickly dismissed him.
Sahibzada Farhan played a brilliant innings of 58 runs, including 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Saim Ayub scored 21 and Mohammad Nawaz scored 19. Faheem Ashraf hit 20 runs in the final overs to take the score to 171/5. Shivam Dubey took two wickets for India, while Kuldeep Yadav took one.
Jasprit Bumrah restricted the runs but did not take any wickets.
India faces a big challenge
Pakistan’s score of 171/5 is chaseable on the Dubai pitch, but not easy. India’s batsmen have high hopes from stars like Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma.
Pakistan’s bowlers, especially Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, can create pressure by taking early wickets.
The pitch is good for batting, but spinners may get some assistance. Now it remains to be seen whether India can chase this score.
