Asia Cup 2025 has started with a bang, and the passion between India and Pakistan has already heated up.

During the practice session of this tournament going on in Dubai, a video has gone viral, in which Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi is seen warmly meeting India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav.
This video has been released from the official handle of PCB, and has created a stir on social media!
If you look at the video, Naqvi is welcoming all the captains as soon as he reaches the venue. First he hugs Pakistan captain Salman Agha tightly, then shakes hands with the rest of the leaders and especially that handshake with SKY i.e. Suryakumar Yadav went viral.
After that Naqvi leaves for the press conference, and SKY is seen walking right behind him. Both line up in a photo session with the trophy.
Seeing this scene, it seems as if the magic of cricket is breaking the walls of politics!
Suryakumar spoke openly in the press conference. He said,
“We have not played a game together since June, but as a team, we have to accept this challenge. We’ve been preparing here for the last four days and are confident about adapting quickly.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Salman Agha said before the India match,
“Adopting an aggressive approach is the natural strength of fast bowlers. These conditions are not new to us, and we will try to give our best.”
Looks like the mega match on 14 September is going to be a blast!
However, there is a little political tension in the background. Naqvi recently said on the Pahalgam terror attack,
“Pakistan’s economic stability is intolerable for India. The world must see how the country that claims to be the largest democracy is using terrorism to achieve its objectives.”
And added in the Lahore press conference, “Pakistan is ready to fully cooperate with any neutral party conducting a probe, as we seek to expose the real perpetrators behind the attack.”
But everything is happening with sportsmanship on the cricket field!
At present, the tournament has started from Tuesday, with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong. But the real excitement is in India vs Pakistan, which will be interesting to watch.
