The Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025 was played today in Dubai, where a fierce battle was witnessed between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka, batting first, scored 168/7 in 20 overs. Their captain Dasun Shanaka scored a blazing 64 runs, including 3 fours and 6 sixes.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. Their bowler Mustafizur Rahman performed brilliantly, taking 3 wickets for just 20 runs. Mahedi Hasan also took 2 wickets.
Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka was dismissed for 22, Kusal Mendis for 34, and Charith Asalanka for 21. Three extra runs were added, but wickets continued to fall: the first wicket fell at 44, the last at 158.
Now it was time for the chase. Bangladesh needed 169 runs. Saif Hasan played a brilliant innings of 61 runs, hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes in 45 balls. Towhid Hridoy added 58 runs. Liton Das scored 23 runs. However, wickets also fell: Tanjid Hasan on 0, Liton on 60.
Going into the last over, Bangladesh finished the match at 169/6 in 19.5 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets, but Shamim Hossain remained unbeaten on 14* and Nasum Ahmed on 1*.
Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Thushara gave away only 1 wicket for 42 runs. Dushmantha Chameera took 1 wicket for 32 runs. For Bangladesh, Shariful Islam went wicketless for 49 runs.
This match showed that anything can happen in the Asia Cup; one ball, one run, can change everything. Bangladesh won by 1 run, with a CRR of 8.52.
