The highly anticipated five-match Test series between India and Australia is set to commence at the Optus Stadium in Perth on November 22.
India enters the series brimming with confidence after clinching victory in the last two series on Australian soil.
If India aims for the remarkable feat of a three-peat, they will heavily depend on Bumrah’s skill, ability, and all-round bowling prowess in Australia.
“He’s a wonderful bowler, whether I face him with the new ball, slightly older ball, or even the old ball. He’s got great skills with all of them. He’s a great bowler, arguably the best fast bowler across the three formats. It’s always going to be a challenge” Smith stated as reported by PTI.
The 35-year-old has been recently opening the innings for Australia and may be tasked with the same role against India.
Smith, who boasts 109 Test caps for Australia is on course to surpass the 10,000-run milestone in this series, having already amassed 9,685 runs in the longest format of the game.
In contrast, Bumrah has been outstanding for India since his debut in 2018, having taken 164 wickets in just 37 Test matches.
