Former Pakistan cricketer Tanveer Ahmed has delivered yet another attack on India over its stance on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Following his earlier “wear bangles” controversial statement about BCCI, Ahmed has once again caused controversy with an inflammatory post about India on X (formerly Twitter).
Ahmed’s latest remarks come in response to the BCCI’s decision not to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, sparking outrage on social media.
Known for his fiery statements, Ahmed lashed out at Indian fans and the Indian cricket board, calling them “corrupt, filthy, dishonest, and the most deceitful cricket board,” after the ICC confirmed India’s refusal to participate in the tournament on Pakistani soil.
In a scathing post, Ahmed said that he would rather trust a donkey than trust the BCCI or India. “Bhai, some people from India are abusing me, but let them say whatever they want. Your BCCI is cheap, filthy, dishonest, and the top-notch double-faced cricket board, so it’s better for me to trust a donkey than to trust you people and your board,” Ahmed wrote.
As tensions remain high between the BCCI and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ahmed’s latest outburst has only added fuel to the ongoing conflict sparking heated responses from cricket fans on both sides.
India’s decision to skip the tournament in Pakistan could provoke a strong reaction from the Pakistani government. Reports indicate that the government may ask the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to consider withdrawing from the Champions Trophy altogether if the tournament is moved out of Pakistan.
The PCB has already rejected a hybrid model for the event, with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi stating that Pakistan has traveled to India for recent global tournaments and now it’s time for respect in return.
With the ICC having informed the PCB of India’s stance the possibility of Pakistan boycotting the tournament if the venue is shifted continues to loom adding a new layer of drama to an already tense situation.
