Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a strict zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment. BCB president Aminul Islam made this commitment clear to everyone. No one escapes accountability if allegations prove true at all.

Serious Allegations Surface
Former national pace bowler Manjurul Alam faced sexual harassment accusations recently. Cricketer Jahanara Alam claimed he harassed her during the 2022 World Cup. These allegations shocked the Bangladesh cricket community badly and sparked discussions.
More former female players came forward with similar complaints afterwards. The situation grew bigger than initially expected by cricket officials. BCB realized they needed to act quickly on this matter.
The allegations raised serious questions about women’s safety in cricket. Female cricketers deserve respect and protection from harassment. BCB understood their responsibility toward creating safe spaces for women.
Investigation Committee Takes Charge
BCB formed an investigation committee led by retired Justice Tariq ul Hakim. Board director Rubaba Dowla and barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla joined as members. This committee will investigate every complaint thoroughly without any bias.
BCB officials linked to the women’s cricket program got special duties. They stepped aside temporarily while the investigations continue properly. This move ensures fair inquiry without any interference from concerned parties.
Aminul Islam said everyone faces accountability including himself as president. Directors and other officials won’t get special treatment either here. The investigation will follow proper procedures for all cases equally. He replied so firmly to the questions about the allegations.
“You’ve asked a question, and here’s my reply – zero tolerance. Thank you,” Aminul said.
“Well, whether it’s an employee or a director, there’s an investigation committee that is responsible for making decisions. Since the committee has already been formed, we are dependent on their decision because as a cricket board director or even as president, we are not entitled to take any decisions independently.”
Fair Process for Everyone
The committee will give the accused people time to defend themselves. They get five to seven days to prepare their defence properly. This ensures that justice for both complainants and accused persons is fair.
BCB wants a safe environment for women in cricket. But they also believe in fair trials for everyone involved. Rushing to judgment helps nobody in such sensitive situations ultimately.
The board takes these allegations very seriously without any doubt. Anyone found guilty will face strict action regardless of position. Bangladesh cricket moves toward better protection for female players finally.
