India defeated Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20I. This resounding victory came at the Carrara Oval, where India, batting first, scored 167 runs in 20 overs.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl, but their planning backfired. India now leads the series 2-1.

India’s good start and Gill’s big hits
Abhishek Sharma initially scored 28 runs off 21 balls, hitting three fours and a six. Then Shubman Gill did wonders, scoring 46 runs off 39 balls, including four fours and a six.
The two added 56 runs for the first wicket. Shivam Dubey scored 22 runs off 18 balls before being bowled by Nathan Ellis. Suryakumar Yadav, like a captain, scored 20 runs off 10 balls, hitting two sixes. Tilak Verma scored 5, and Jitesh Sharma scored only 3.
Washington Sundar added 12 runs off 7 balls. Finally, Axar Patel shone with an unbeaten 21, hitting a four and a six off 11 balls. Arshdeep was dismissed for 0, but Varun Chakravarthy remained unbeaten on 1.
A total of 11 fours, 6 sixes, a run rate of 8.35. Ellis and Zampa took 3 wickets each, but India posted a total of 167/8.
Australia’s batting failed against Indian bowlers
Australia started well but quickly crumbled. Mitchell Marsh scored 30 runs off 24 balls, hitting four fours, but Shivam Dube was caught by Arshdeep.
Matthew Short scored 25 runs off 19 balls before being trapped LBW by Axar Patel. Josh Inglis was bowled by Axar for 12 runs off 11 balls.
Tim David then scored 14 runs off 9 balls, hitting a four and a six, but was caught by Surya off Dubey. Josh Philippe managed only 10 runs off 10 balls, caught by Arshdeep off Varun.
Marcus Stoinis was LBW off Washington Sundar for 17 runs off 19 balls. Glenn Maxwell was 2 runs off just 4 balls, bowled by Varun Chakravarthy. Ben Dwarshuis was bowled by Bumrah for 5 runs off 7 balls.
Xavier Bartlett was 0 off 1 ball, caught and bowled by Sundar. Nathan Ellis remained unbeaten on 2 runs. Adam Zampa was 0 off 1 ball, caught by Gill off Sundar.
A total of 119 runs in 18.2 overs, with just 12 fours and 3 sixes. Axar Patel was named Player of the Match. India’s bowling dismissed the entire team.
Sundar and Axar helped India win easily
Washington Sundar bowled just 1.2 overs and took 3 wickets for 3 runs, which was the best performance. Axar Patel also took 2 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs, earning him the Player of the Match award.
Australia were bowled out for 119 in 18.2 overs, hitting just 12 fours and 3 sixes.
