Team India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami is once again in the headlines, but this time not for cricket, but for his personal life.
His estranged wife Hasin Jahan has made serious and explosive allegations against Shami after the latest decision of the Kolkata High Court.
Hasin says that Shami forced her to give up her career and is now making her and her daughter’s life difficult.
Hasin recently shared her ordeal in a conversation with news agency ANI.
She said, “Before marriage, I used to do modeling and acting. Shami asked me to quit modeling and wanted me to just be a housewife. I agreed to all this out of love for him, but now I have no income of my own.”
Hasin further said that when Shami refused to help her and her daughter financially, she had to choose the path of court.
Hasin questioned Shami’s character and said,
“At the time of marriage, it is not written on anyone’s face that he is a wrong person. I too became a victim of this deception. Shami not only tried to ruin my life, but also put our daughter’s future in danger.”
Why was Shami ordered to give 4 lakhs to his wife and daughter?
The Kolkata High Court has ordered Shami to give 1.5 lakh rupees to Hasin and 2.5 lakh rupees to their daughter every month. Earlier in 2023, the court had ruled to give 50,000 and 80,000 rupees, but Hasin had appealed to the High Court calling it less.
The court decided to increase this amount considering Shami’s earnings.
Hasin welcomed the court’s decision and said,
“There is a law in our country that gives justice. Shami will have to fulfill his responsibilities.”
Shami’s cricket career also in discussion
On the other hand, Shami’s cricket career is also going through a difficult phase. Recently, he has been dropped from the Test team for the England tour.
The selectors questioned his fitness, and new players like Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep were given a chance.
However, Shami can still retain his place in the ODI format.
This legal battle between Hasin and Shami has once again brought their personal and professional life into the limelight. Now it remains to be seen what effect this controversy has on Shami’s career and his image.
