Massive news just dropped from Pakistan cricket! Multan Sultans return to PSL 2026 after disappearing after the controversy. The comeback story involves a shocking franchise takeover nobody expected.

Sialkot Stallionz existed for barely two months before vanishing. The newly formed team got Sialkot Stallionz rebranded completely. CD Ventures bought them and changed everything immediately.
Why Multan Sultans Left PSL Originally
The Tareen Group owned the original Multan Sultans franchise. They had serious conflicts with Pakistan Cricket Board officials. These disputes forced Multan out of the PSL competition.
PCB decided to add two completely new franchises instead. Cities like Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, and Faisalabad applied eagerly. Sialkot and Hyderabad won the bidding process eventually.
Sialkot Stallionz and Hyderabad Kingsmen became the new PSL teams. Both cities celebrated getting their own franchises finally. But Sialkot’s joy didn’t last very long at all.
The Quick Ownership Changes
OZ developers bought Sialkot Stallionz on January 8 this year. They paid PKR 185 crores during the franchise auction. The OZ Group seemed committed to building a strong team.
Then everything changed dramatically on March 3 suddenly. CD Ventures partnered with OZ developers in a surprise move. They acquired the franchise for PKR 200 crores total.
The new owners got Sialkot Stallionz rebranded as Multan Sultans immediately. Gohar Shah became the new CEO of the franchise. Social media erupted with this shocking announcement quickly.
What This Means for PSL 2026
Multan Sultans return to PSL 2026 under completely new ownership. Gohar Shah praised the Tareen Group’s contributions to Pakistan cricket. He called Ali Tareen his friend publicly.
“Tareen Group has provided many services for Pakistan cricket and the PSL. Our aim will be to take the team forward from where they left off. Ali Tareen is my friend, and everyone will be welcome to come and watch Multan’s matches,” Shah explained.
He promised to continue from where they left off. Everyone is welcome to watch Multan’s matches now.
Sialkot fans feel absolutely devastated by this sudden rebranding. They lost their PSL team before playing one match! The Sialkot Stallionz rebranded decision crushed their dreams completely.
PSL 2026 now features the familiar Multan Sultans name again. The franchise returns stronger with new management backing!
