The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final is going to be held tonight in Ahmadabad, and there is good news for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans, their superstar opener Phil Salt is all set to play against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final.
Salt recently went to England for the birth of his first child, but now he is back in Ahmedabad and is gearing up to win RCB their first IPL trophy.

When Salt was not seen in RCB’s training session on Monday, the heartbeat of the fans increased. There were reports that he had gone home for the birth of his child, and might miss the final.
But, the superstar’s return put everyone’s worries to rest, According to Hindustan Times, Salt reached Ahmedabad at 3 am on Tuesday and now he is ready to rock the final.
Sources said, “Salt returned late last night and is now fully fit. He will play for RCB in the final.”
Will Phil Salt be a game changer for RCB?
Phil Salt has been a game-changer for RCB this season. He has scored 387 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 175.90 and an average of 35.18.
Especially his stormy innings of 56 runs in 27 balls against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 gave RCB an 8-wicket win. His and Virat Kohli’s pair have given sleepless nights to the opposition bowlers many times this season.
This final is very special for RCB. They have reached the final after 9 years and want to end the trophy drought of 17 years. Earlier, they have lost the finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
Captain Rajat Patidar said, “We are playing it like just another match. Our focus is on the process, not the result.”
On the other hand, Punjab Kings are also looking for their first trophy. Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 87 off 41 balls in Qualifier 2 brought PBKS to the final.
However, RCB have another setback. Their hard-hitting batsman Tim David may not be able to play the final due to a hamstring injury.
Now it remains to be seen whether Liam Livingstone retains his place or Tim Seifert gets a chance.
