Saim Ayub becomes No.1 all-rounder in T20I rankings after jumping four spots in latest update. The 22-year-old Pakistani opener grabbed the top position with 241 ranking points. He pushed India’s Hardik Pandya down to second place in this massive achievement.

The ICC updated their rankings on October 1 following the Asia Cup tournament. Ayub overtook several big names like Mohammad Nabi, Sikandar Raza, and Dipendra Airee, too. His bowling performances throughout the competition helped him climb these rankings so quickly.
Ayub’s Impressive Bowling Numbers
Pakistan lost the Asia Cup final to India, but Ayub’s individual stats shone. He grabbed eight wickets across seven matches with brilliant control and variations there. The young all-rounder maintained an average of 16 and an economy rate of 6.40.
Those bowling figures caught everyone’s attention despite Pakistan’s disappointing tournament result overall here. Saim Ayub becomes No.1 all-rounder in T20I because his consistent performances spoke volumes. He only scored 14 runs in the final, but his bowling carried Pakistan far.

Hardik Pandya Drops to Second Spot
Hardik Pandya couldn’t play the Asia Cup final because of an injury concern. He struggled in earlier matches, too, which hurt his ranking points badly. Pandya slipped to second position with 233 points after holding the top spot before.
The Indian all-rounder will need strong performances to reclaim his number one ranking soon. Other players like Mohammad Nawaz and Charith Asalanka also moved up their positions recently.
