Asia Cup 2025 is just a few days away and a bad news is coming for the Indian cricket team. Star wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has been injured.

Sanju was seen limping and in pain during the ongoing practice session in Dubai, which has increased the tension of the fans and the team management.
Along with this, Indian players are also undergoing bronco test, which is a new way to test their fitness.
Sanju’s injury, how big a blow to India?
Sanju Samson, who was surprising everyone with his explosive batting in the recent Kerala Cricket League (KCL), is now in the news due to injury.
According to a report by RevSportz, on September 6, during practice at the ICC Academy, Sanju was seen in pain and limping slightly while taking throwdowns. The tweet read,
“Slight limp and Pain when he was taking throwdowns Sanju Samson during practice didn’t look % fit”
This news is also a matter of concern because Sanju has been opening for India in T20 and has three T20I centuries as well.
But now questions are being raised about his place, especially when Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma are ready to open.
Bronco Test: New Fitness Test
Amid the news of injury, Indian players are undergoing the Bronco Test, which is a new fitness test introduced by the BCCI. This test has been introduced by strength and conditioning coach Adrian Le Roux.
In this, players have to do shuttle runs of 20, 40 and 60 meters, that too without stopping for 1200 meters! RevSportz tweeted, “Bronco is on at ICC academy”
This test, combined with the Yo-Yo test and 2 kilometer time trial, will test the fitness of the players more rigorously.
What will happen to Sanju?
If Sanju’s injury is serious, then Jitesh Sharma, who was in great form for RCB in IPL 2025, can get a chance in his place.
Shubman Gill said on BCCI.tv, “Very excited obviously, I think it’s a great group and the way we’ve been playing in the T20s has just been nothing short of entertaining, terrific cricket, so very excited to join the group.”
At the same time, Arshdeep Singh said about the atmosphere,
“It’s a very lively atmosphere, a lot of fun is going on and it’s Day 1, we’ll get into it a bit now, we’ll have full intensity till the first match.”
At present, the Asia Cup is starting from September 9 and India’s first match is against UAE on September 10.
