The trouble started in September 2025 when calls began coming. A woman named Richa Purohit contacted Vipraj Nigam through mobile initially. She demanded compliance and threatened to leak sensitive videos of him.
Vipraj Nigam reports FIR after blocking her original number didn’t help. She switched to multiple international phone numbers to continue harassment. The cricketer received constant abusive messages and threatening calls daily.
The woman kept changing numbers to avoid getting caught easily. This made blocking her almost impossible for the young cricketer. The psychological pressure affected his mental health and cricket performance badly.
Legal Action Begins
Vipraj Nigam reports FIR expressing serious concerns about his safety now. His reputation as a professional cricketer was at stake here. He approached the police seeking immediate intervention against this cyber harassment.
Police registered the case under sections 351(3) and 352 of BNS. These sections cover criminal intimidation and provocation of breach of peace. Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya leads the investigation team currently.
