West Indies legend blames Daren Sammy after the team’s embarrassing collapse against Australia recently. Former captain Carl Hooper blasted the current coaching setup following the historic low score. Cricket fans are furious about how badly the Caribbean team has fallen apart.

The Disaster That Shocked Cricket World
Australia beat West Indies by 176 runs after bowling them out twice easily. The Caribbean boys fell apart for just 27 runs when they needed to fight. Nobody could believe how badly the batsmen played against ordinary bowling attacks.
Mitchell Starc ripped through the West Indies lineup like a hot knife through butter. He took 6 wickets for 9 runs while the batsmen had no answers.

Hooper watching his former team get humiliated on live television. He couldn’t take it anymore and decided to speak out publicly. He believes the current management has failed to prepare players for big matches. The former captain thinks something is seriously wrong with the team’s direction.
Why Hooper Blames the Coaching Staff
“It’s been so disappointing. I’m angry, I’m upset, you know, because I think we were building a good thing a few years ago. And then we had wholesale changes. And to see this as the end result is like what we’ve done for the last two, three years in trying to build something has just sort of gone up in flames today,” Hooper said.
West Indies legend blames Daren Sammy because the team has gone backward under him. Hooper remembers when the team showed real promise in previous years before changes. He thinks the coaching staff has made too many wrong decisions lately.
“We were building something under the former head coach, Andre Coley. Then we removed him and brought in Daren Sammy, who was our white-ball coach. He’s now the all-format coach. And now, you sort of take one step forward and then, I think two steps backward. Where do you go from here? We’ve got India coming up in a couple of months — a three-Test series — it’s going to be tough,” he added.
The former captain pointed out that Sammy works as both coach and selector. This creates problems because one person controls too many important team decisions. Hooper believes this setup confuses players and hurts the team’s chances.
He also worries about the upcoming Test series against India in October. The current form suggests West Indies will struggle badly against India’s strong team. Hooper thinks the coaching staff needs to answer tough questions about their methods.
What This Means for West Indies Cricket
West Indies legend blames Daren Sammy but also feels sad about cricket’s decline. The former captain remembers when his team dominated world cricket for years. Now they embarrass themselves against every opponent they face in matches.

Hooper wants accountability from everyone involved in running the team’s affairs properly. He believes the cricket board must make hard decisions about the future. Without major changes, West Indies cricket will continue sliding downward toward more embarrassing defeats.
