West Indies’ explosive all-rounder Andre Russell is now going to say goodbye to international cricket.

The 37-year-old superstar will retire after playing the first two matches of the T20 series against Australia at Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Russell has shown amazing performance for West Indies only in T20 cricket since 2019. In 84 T20 matches, he scored 1,078 runs at a strike rate of 163.08, including three half-centuries and a best score of 71 runs.
He also took 61 wickets in bowling, with 3/19 being his top performance. His retirement announcement has come just before the T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.

Russell’s brilliance was not limited to international cricket. In T20 leagues around the world, he scored 9,316 runs in 561 matches, including two centuries and 33 half-centuries.
His best score was 121*. He also has 485 wickets in bowling, in which 5/15 is his top performance.
Recently, he scored 126 runs and took 10 wickets for Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket, even though his team failed in the tournament.
Russell’s last international match will be on his home ground, which will be an emotional moment for the fans. His style, his energy and his magic on the field will always be remembered.
