A major controversy has emerged in Pakistan cricket, in which ODI team captain Mohammad Rizwan has been accused of “insulting” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Due to which PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has ordered strict action against Rizwan.

Former cricketer Sikander Bakht has targeted Rizwan, saying that he gets Rs 60 lakh every month, but still he is refusing to play in the National T20 Cup. Instead, Rizwan is preferring to play club cricket.
Sikander Bakht said on Geo News,
“They are employees of the Pakistan Cricket Board. They get Rs 60 lakh every month, so they should play in PCB’s tournaments. If you are playing club cricket and not playing in the board’s tournaments, it means you are disrespecting the PCB.”
Players’ arbitrariness will be stopped
Rizwan has been under criticism for the last few months. His performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was disappointing, where Pakistan was eliminated from the group stage and lost all the matches. Rizwan failed to score big and did not look effective in captaincy as well.
Rizwan was dropped from the T20 series against New Zealand due to poor performance. After this, he did not even participate in the National T20 Cup, which further increased the controversy.
Sikander Bakht has appealed to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to take strict action.
He said, “Mohsin Naqvi should be strict. He seems to be a polite person, but now he needs to change his way. If the players refuse to play in the national tournament, then their central contracts should be stopped.”
Mohammad Rizwan will next be seen in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. After scoring just 49 runs in the Champions Trophy, he would like to make a strong comeback.
Currently, the Pakistan team is playing a T20 series against New Zealand, in which they have lost the first two matches. The team has not been able to perform well so far under the captaincy of Salman Aga.
