Yashasvi Jaiswal is in the headlines after India’s 5-wicket loss to England in the Leeds Test, but for the wrong reasons.
In the first Test at Headingley on June 24, Yashasvi showed amazing performance with the bat, but his fielding disappointed everyone.

Fans did not like Yashasvi’s dance on the boundary even after dropping four catches. He is being heavily criticized on social media.
Yashasvi’s brilliant innings
Yashasvi scored a brilliant century in the first innings and got everyone’s praise. But his mistakes in fielding spoiled the whole game. He dropped three catches in the first innings off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, due to which England scored 465 runs in response to India’s 471 runs.
The biggest setback came when Yashasvi dropped an easy catch of Ben Duckett on 97 on the fifth day. Duckett took advantage of the opportunity and played a blistering innings of 149 runs and England easily chased the huge target of 371 runs.

Why did Yashasvi’s dance video go viral?
A video went viral during the match, in which Yashasvi was seen standing at long-on and dancing with English fans. This scene was just minutes after dropping Ben Duckett’s catch.
Fans did not like this at all. On social media, people are calling Yashasvi “careless” and “irresponsible”. Some even said that if Rohit Sharma was the captain, Yashasvi would have been scolded on the field itself!

Captain Shubman Gill disappointed after defeat
He said, “We missed opportunities, dropped catches and the lower order could not score runs. Still I am proud of my team.”
On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin defended Yashasvi. He said that the Dukes ball is heavy and it is not easy to catch it in English conditions. Ashwin appealed to the fans to give some time to Yashasvi.
