India’s new Test captain Shubman Gill is ready to take charge in the first Test against England starting on June 20 at Headingley.
And on this special occasion, Sachin Tendulkar, known as the God of Cricket, has given Gill a brilliant advice – “Stop worrying about the outside world, just take decisions from the heart!”

Sachin said in a conversation with Cricbuzz,
“Gill should not be afraid and take the decision that seems right. People will keep talking – some will say he is very aggressive, some will say he is very defensive.
But Gill has to think only about the good of the team. What is being discussed in the dressing room, he has to focus on that. Outside noise? Ignore that!”
Gill, who is just 25 years old, is going to become the 37th Test captain of India. He is replacing Rohit Sharma, who retired before the England tour.
Not only this, Gill is also the fifth youngest Indian Test captain till date. Sachin refused to compare his captaincy with Gill.
He said, “That era was different, this era is different. Now it is just time to support Gill.”
Sachin believes that Gill should be carefree in his captaincy.
He said, “People’s opinion will definitely come. Someone will say this is wrong, that is wrong. But Gill has to trust his decisions, provided those decisions are right for the team.”
This mantra of Sachin is no less than a game-changer for Gill, especially when he is captaining on his first foreign tour.
This Test between India and England at Headingley is a big test for Gill. But if Sachin’s advice is to be believed, then Gill just has to listen to his heart and forget everything else.
People also hope that Gill will rock in this new role and lead India to victory.
