Central Zone has defeated North East Zone badly in the second quarter-final of Duleep Trophy 2025.
The match is being played at BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru, and by stumps on the third day, Central Zone has taken a huge lead of 678 runs.

North East Zone won the toss and chose to bowl first, but this decision proved costly for them.
Central Zone’s first innings was a blast. Danish Malewar played a blistering innings of 203 runs, which included 36 fours and 1 six. He retired out.
Captain Rajat Patidar also scored 125 runs, hitting 21 fours and 3 sixes. Yash Rathod remained not out after scoring 87 runs. The team declared the innings at 532/4. North East bowlers did not get any wicket, Akash Chaudhary took 2 wickets but conceded a lot of runs.
North East’s batsmen faltered in the first innings. Karanjit Yumnam scored 48 runs, Ankur Malik played a fighting innings of 42 runs, but the rest flopped. The team was all out for just 185 runs.
Among Central’s bowlers, Aditya Thackeray took 3 wickets, Harsh Dubey took 2. Stars like Kuldeep Yadav also bowled economically.

Now Central’s second innings again brought a storm. Shubham Sharma scored a brilliant century of 123 runs, hitting 17 fours. Yash Rathod scored 82 runs, Rajat Patidar added 63 runs.
The team scored 331/7, in which Deepak Chahar remained not out after scoring 22 runs. North East’s Bishworjit Konthoujam took 3 wickets, but could not stop the visitors.
