London Spirit’s world is in for a storm! Former England captain and cricket superstar Eoin Morgan has been appointed to London Spirit’s board of directors.

Morgan, known for his shrewdness and experience, will now advance the interests of Lord’s owners, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), and work closely with the new co-owners, the ‘Tech Titans’.
What are Tech Titans and Spirit’s Board?
‘Tech Titans’ i.e. Cricket Investor Holdings Limited, is a group of Silicon Valley technology giants, led by Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora. The group has placed a massive bid of £144 million for a 49% stake in London Spirit.
The deal is expected to be approved soon. MCC will hold four seats on the board with its 51% stake, while the Tech Titans will appoint three directors.
Morgan has a long association with London Spirit. He captained the team in the first two seasons of the Hundred and has also had a long association with Middlesex.
Recently he has also been made the Cricket Chairman of MCC, who will replace Claire Taylor. Morgan’s new role shows his experience and deep understanding of franchise cricket.
What is special in them?
Along with Morgan, MCC has also included its CEO Rob Lawson and committee member Julian Metherell in the board. The appointment of a director is yet to be made.
Julian Metherell played an important role in the negotiations of this deal, for which MCC President Mark Nicholas also praised him.
What is the deal of the Hundred?
The eight franchise deals of the Hundred are now in the final stage. ECB CEO Richard Gold said that this process lasted longer than expected, but now everything is in the right direction.
London Spirit has been valued at £295 million, which shows the importance of this deal.
