In a conversation with Sports Yaari, Gilchrist said,
“Yashasvi is the next big superstar. He just needs to learn a little more. That Starc moment? It was just a good conversation. Every dog has its day, and that day was Yashasvi’s. But Starc caught him back later. That’s the fun of cricket!”
Gilchrist’s “every dog has its day” comment went viral on social media.
While some fans are taking it as a joke, some feel that it was a bit harsh for Yashasvi.
