Ahead of IPL 2025, Rajasthan Royals have taken a big decision and decided to include former India spin bowling coach and NCA veteran Sairaj Bahutule in their team.
According to Cricbuzz Bahutule himself confirmed
“The discussions are ongoing, and I’m close to finalizing my involvement with the franchise. There are still a few details to be worked out, but I’m excited to be realigning with the Royals. I’m also thrilled to be reuniting with Rahul. He was the one who introduced me to the Indian team during the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2023 when I served as the spin-bowling coach. I was also part of his coaching staff in Sri Lanka, so I’m looking forward to our reunion,”
Sairaj Bahutule’s Career Review
Bahutule has a long experience in cricket. He worked at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for many years and prepared many young players. Apart from this, he worked with the Indian team as a spin bowling coach in the Border-Gavaskar series in 2023 and the Sri Lanka tour in 2024.
Bahutule has played 188 first class matches for India in his career in which he has taken 630 wickets. He played for the Vidarbha team in Ranji Trophy and later came into coaching and prepared many young players.
Expert opinion on Sairaj Bahutule
Cricket experts believe that Rajasthan Royals will benefit greatly from Bahutule’s appointment. Bahutule’s role in Rajasthan Royals will be that of an expert spin bowling coach. Shane Bond is already present in the team as a fast bowling coach.
Rajasthan Royals’ performance has been good in the last few seasons, but the team has not been able to win the trophy. This time the team has indicated its preparation by strengthening the coaching staff.
With Bahutule joining, the team is expected to get a new direction and fans have high expectations from the team.
