The mention of the love story of Indian cricket superstar Jasprit Bumrah and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan makes everyone smile.

The two recently shared a funny story of their first meeting on Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s show Who’s the Boss?.

Sanjana’s funny misunderstanding

It was during the 2019 ODI World Cup, when Sanjana was covering the practice sessions with the Indian team in England.

Sanjana said, “I was on the field, and players like Dinesh Karthik used to say ‘Hi’ and wave at me. But Jasprit? He was standing in the group and making such faces as if he was saying, ‘I will neither say Hi, nor make eye contact!'”

Sanjana thought, “Hey, he is either married, or his girlfriend is keeping an eye on him!”

Sanjana jokingly said, “I thought maybe his wife is sitting somewhere and is keeping an eye on him. Either I did something wrong, or this is his style!”

But as the conversation between the two started, all the misunderstandings were cleared.

Sanjana laughingly said, “After talking, I came to know that he is completely different. Absolutely cool and friendly!”

Bumrah’s funny reply

Jasprit gave his clarification on this story and laughingly said,

“This story is completely one-sided! Sanjana thought I am married? Hey, I am just a little shy. I don’t say ‘hi-hello’ to new people immediately. It takes me some time to open up.”

Then he jokingly said, “Sanjana’s logic was that if I didn’t say ‘hi’, then I am married and someone is watching me. What kind of logic is this brother?”

After this funny beginning, the friendship of both turned into love. Both got married in March 2021 and welcomed their son Angad in September 2023.

Today this couple is not only ruling the cricket and TV world, but is also winning the hearts of fans with their cute chemistry.

Jasprit is currently playing a Test series for India in England, where he took 5 wickets in the first Test. On the other hand, Sanjana is making a splash with her presenting.
