Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana’s dream wedding with singer Palash Muchhal hit a sudden pause after her father suffered a heart attack.

Smriti Mandhana, the cricketer who recently won the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup and was ruling everyone’s hearts, was celebrating the happiest moment of her life today. But everything suddenly changed.
Her wedding with Bollywood singer and composer Palash Muchhal was scheduled for November 23rd at the Mandhana Farm House in Sangli, Maharashtra.
Early in the morning, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack. The entire family was shocked to hear the news.
The mehendi and haldi ceremonies had just been held with great pomp. Videos showed Smriti romancing Palash on stage to the song “Gulabi Aankhen Jo Teri Dekhi.” Teammates and family were all celebrating.
Right after Smriti won the World Cup, Palash proposed to her at the same stadium where the final match was held. Everything seemed perfect, but during breakfast, Papa’s health deteriorated. At first, the family thought it was a minor issue, but as his condition worsened, an ambulance was called.
Wedding postponed, family makes difficult decision
Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, told the media, “Then we decided not to take any risks. So, we called an ambulance and shifted him to the hospital. He is currently under observation. As Smriti is extremely close to her father, she has decided to indefinitely postpone her wedding until her father’s health returns to normal.”
Everyone’s eyes welled up with tears upon hearing this. Srinivas was taken to a private hospital in Sangli, where doctors said he was stable but under observation.
Decoration work at the venue stopped. Workers began removing the decorations. Smriti and Palash, who have been in a relationship since 2019, made this decision in consultation with their families. Fans are offering prayers on social media.
One post read, “Hoping for a speedy recovery and that everything will be fine.” Palash’s sister Palak Muchhal and her husband Mithun were also present, offering their support.
The wedding has been postponed indefinitely. Doctors are monitoring Srinivas’ condition, and the family has requested privacy.
