Jasprit Bumrah received praise from Tim Southee, the present New Zealand Test Team Captain because of his exceptional performance. Presently, he is on a break from international cricket. The break would enable him to be fully prepared for the five-match Test series against Australia at the end of this year.
Tim Southee on Jasprit Bumrah
At the Ceat Cricket Rating Award, Tim Southee talked about how tough it is to do well in different formats of the game right after recovering from a major injury. He noted that Bumrah has been performing even better than before his injury.
“To be able to firstly bounce back from the major injury and come back, he’s even better than what he was beforehand. Throw in on top of that, having to juggle multiple formats, can be difficult at times as well,” Southee mentioned at the awards event.
Southee believes Bumrah’s experience has helped him come back strong and perform exceptionally. He described Bumrah as the best bowler across all formats in the world.
“He seems to have been able to do that with ease as well. He’s probably more experienced and understands his game a bit more. He probably had that time where he was injured to come back and be recharged, refreshed.” Southee said.
“We are just seeing a great version (of Bumrah) across all three formats. He’s brilliant across all three at the moment. I don’t think there’s anyone better than him, he is tremendous across all three (formats),” Southee added.
