A news of great concern has come to light for the fans of Pakistani cricket. There is a threat of terrorist attack on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan. Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have issued a high alert in this regard.
This tournament was very special for Pakistan because a big ICC event was going to be held there after 27 years. But now it seems that this dream may be broken. Intelligence agencies have received information that some terrorist groups may target foreign players and fans.

Who is in danger on ICC Champions Trophy 2025?
Pakistan’s Intelligence Bureau report says that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ISIS and terrorist groups of Balochistan are conspiring to kidnap foreign nationals. In view of this threat, security agencies have intensified their preparations.
The government of Pakistan has formed special teams for the security of players and staff. These include rangers and local police personnel. But the question is, will these steps be enough?
However, India has already made it clear that it will not go to Pakistan. The Indian team will play all its matches in Dubai. Apart from security, tension between the two countries is also the reason for this decision.
Old attacks in pakistan
Pakistan has a history of attacks on foreign nationals. In 2024, Chinese engineers were attacked in Shangla. In 2009, there was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. After this attack, international cricket had gone away from Pakistan.
Now teams like England, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia and Afghanistan will participate in this year’s Champions Trophy. But due to terrorist threat, now these teams are finding it difficult to come to Pakistan.
ICC now faces a big challenge. He will either have to provide full assurance of security in Pakistan, or shift the tournament to some other place.
If the tournament cannot be held in Pakistan, then it can be held in UAE or some matches can be shifted to other countries.
This could be a big blow for Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He was trying to bring back international cricket for the last several years. Champions Trophy was a big opportunity for him.
