A mistake by Australia’s dashing batsman Tim David cost him dearly. On July 28, in the fifth T20 match played against West Indies in St. Kitts, misbehaving with the umpire cost Tim dearly.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given a severe punishment to Tim David for this act.

Tim David trapped in a fight with the umpire
The matter is of the fifth over of the Australian innings. West Indies fast bowler Alzari Joseph bowled the ball on the leg side, which hit Tim David wide. But the umpire did not give it wide.
That’s it, from here Tim’s anger reached the seventh sky. He gestured towards umpire Leslie Reifer with his hand outstretched and moved towards him in anger. The ICC did not like this act at all.
The ICC found Tim David guilty of violating Level 1 of the Code of Conduct.
Under Rule 2.8, which relates to “showing dissatisfaction with the umpire’s decision”, Tim was fined 10% of the match fee.
Also, a demerit point was added to his disciplinary record. However, this is his first offense in the last two years.
Tim admitted his mistake, no hearing took place
Tim David admitted his mistake and accepted the punishment of match referee Ron King. Therefore, there was no formal hearing in this case.
The accusers were field umpires Zahid Basarath and Leslie Reifer, third umpire Dayton Butler and fourth umpire Gregory Brathwaite. Commentator Darren Ganga also commented sharply on this.
He said, “This is unacceptable – if the umpire makes the decision that the ball hit the thigh, he is not in a position to question that decision.”
Great performance, yet controversy
Tim David performed brilliantly in this series. By scoring 30 runs in the fifth T20, he led Australia to a three-wicket win and a 5-0 clean sweep.
In the third T20, he made an Australian record by scoring 100 runs in 37 balls. This was his first T20 International century.
Tim also played a big role in helping Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) win their first title in IPL. But this fight with the umpire dimmed his shine a bit.
