Two cricket stars stole the show in November 2025. ICC announced their monthly award winners recently. Simon Harmer and Shafali Verma earned the prestigious ICC Player of the Month honours.

Both players delivered match-winning performances when their teams needed them most. Their achievements came against tough opposition in crucial matches. These awards recognise truly exceptional cricket played during November 2025.
Simon Harmer Destroys India at Home
South Africa’s spinner Simon Harmer claimed the men’s award deservedly. He beat Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam and Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz for this honour. His November 2025 performances literally changed cricket history books.
Harmer grabbed 17 wickets at just 8.94 average during the India series. That’s ridiculously good numbers by any standard! His economy rate stayed at 5.66 throughout both Tests.
South Africa won 2-0 in India – their first series victory there since 2000! Harmer’s spin magic made this historic achievement possible. He took four wickets in each innings of the first Test.
The second Test saw Harmer at his absolute best. Nine wickets fell to his bowling including brilliant figures of 6/37. India’s batsmen simply couldn’t read his variations at all.
“It’s a privilege to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November. Playing for my country is a dream come true and anything else that comes from it as a result is a bonus,” said Harmer.
Shafali Verma’s World Cup Heroics
Shafali won the women’s award after that incredible World Cup final. Remember, she destroyed South Africa’s bowling. Her 87 runs came when the pressure was highest.
“My first ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup experience didn’t go as I expected but it ended far better than I could have ever wished or imagined,” said Verma.
She opened with Smriti Mandhana and they put on 104 together. That partnership broke South Africa’s back early. Shafali hadn’t scored a fifty in three years before this.
Then she picked up the ball and got two wickets. Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp both fell to her bowling. India lifted the trophy by 52 runs eventually.
Both winners thanked their teammates, coaches, and families humbly. Their November 2025 achievements inspire young cricketers worldwide. These ICC Player of the Month awards celebrate cricket excellence perfectly.
