Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s star spinner, is now ready to start a new innings. After retiring from IPL, Ashwin is now ready to make a splash in Dubai’s ILT20 League.
It is reported that he can be seen not only as a player but also in the role of a coach.

What is the whole matter?
ILT20 CEO David White said in an interview to TimesofIndia.com,
“Our talks with Ashwin have been very positive and we hope that we will get positive news in the near future.”
That is, talks with Ashwin are going well and a big announcement can be made soon.
Praising Ashwin, White said, “If we can find a player of his stature, it will be a great thing. He is a world-renowned, progressively talented player. He has more than 500 Test wickets to his name, a brilliant ODI and T20 career, and his cricket knowledge is amazing. He is a charismatic personality, has a deep understanding of the game. If he plays in ILT20, we will be very happy.”
Ashwin’s cricketing mind and experience are big plus points for ILT20.
White also said that Ashwin can benefit the league not only with the bat and ball but also through his analytical skills and media company.
He said, “I think we are ready for anything like this. Not just for his playing and coaching, but also for his analytical skills. He has his own media company, on which he is working. He is a very smart person. We will welcome all aspects.”
Journey from IPL to ILT20
Last month, Ashwin retired from IPL and told his fans that he now wants to play in foreign T20 leagues.
In his X post, he wrote, “Special day and hence a special beginning.
They say every ending will have a new start, my time as an IPL cricketer comes to a close today, but my time as an explorer of the game around various leagues begins today🤓.
Would like to thank all the franchisees for all the wonderful memories and relationships over the years and most importantly the @IPL and the @BCCI for what they have given me until now. Look forward to enjoying and making the most of what’s ahead of me🙏”
Ashwin took 187 wickets in 221 matches in IPL, that too with a brilliant economy rate of 7.2. Now he is ready for new challenges in ILT20.
On his YouTube channel, he said, “Obviously, I will not play everywhere for 10 months. Whatever the requirements of every team are, and I will fulfill them, I will play in those leagues. I have already registered for one, so let’s see what happens.”
For now, Ashwin playing and coaching in ILT20 will be a double blast for the fans. David White is sure that Ashwin will be a part of the league soon.
