What a crazy morning at Headingley! India looked great but then lost two players quickly. Sai Sudharsan’s debut disaster happened right before lunch break. The new player went home without scoring any runs.

Ben Stokes won the toss for England. He decided his team would bowl first. The sun was shining bright in Leeds today. Early morning helped the bowlers a bit. The ball was moving around slightly.
But things got better for batting later. The pitch became easier to play on. India’s batsmen took full advantage of this change.
Jaiswal and Rahul Play Well
India’s opening pair did fantastic work together. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul hit beautiful shots everywhere. They made batting look really easy out there.

Both players found the boundary rope 16 times. That means lots of fours all around the ground. Jaiswal reached his fifty with smart batting. He didn’t play risky shots outside off stump.
KL Rahul also batted brilliantly for his 42 runs. He looked comfortable facing every bowler. The partnership crossed 50 runs without much trouble. Everything was going perfectly for India.
Disaster Strikes Before Lunch
Then suddenly everything changed in just two overs. KL Rahul tried hitting a loose ball hard. But he only managed to edge it straight to slip. Joe Root grabbed a sharp catch there. Rahul walked back sadly, missing his fifty.
Next came the shocking moment. Sai Sudharsan walked out for his first Test match. Everyone was excited to watch him bat. But Ben Stokes had other plans ready.

In his fourth bowl, he took Sudharsan’s wicket. Sai Sudharsan’s debut disaster was completed in only four deliveries. Nobody wants this to happen on their debut.
England’s Bowling Struggles
England missed their star bowlers Anderson and Broad today. The replacement bowlers couldn’t control their line and length. Carse and Woakes bowled many bad deliveries.
They kept bowling full tosses and leg-side balls. This made scoring runs very easy for India. The boundaries kept coming regularly throughout the morning.
