Starc thinks the pitches in England are unusually easy for batting. He finds it hard to believe these conditions exist there. The Australian bowler questions if these high scores really mean much.

The IND vs ENG 3rd Test continues with batsmen scoring big runs easily. Gill leads India as the new Test captain in this series. His batting form has impressed many cricket experts worldwide.

Starc’s Views on England Batting Conditions

Mitchell Starc on Shubman Gill’s performance shows his concern about pitch conditions. He believes England’s pitches now resemble subcontinental wickets completely. This change surprises the experienced Australian fast bowler significantly.

“I wouldn’t bowl to him in England, that’s for sure. I didn’t see much of the game, I saw the scorecards. There was a few guys that were waking up, particularly Marnus and Alex Carey and Steve Smith who would sit around a coffee machine and watch the game. I did see the scores. Who would be a kid in England and want to bowl on some of those wickets. But from all reports, it was very sub-continent like which I find it hard to believe,” Starc said.

He pointed out that bowlers face easier conditions than usual. This makes batting much simpler for players like Gill. Starc wonders about the bowling quality in such conditions.

    Concerns About High Scores

The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy produces many high scores in matches. Mitchell Starc on Shubman Gill admits these numbers don’t worry him. He believes different conditions will change everything completely.

Starc discussed this topic with Alyssa Healy during their conversation. She asked if high scores concern him about future matches. He replied that home pitches would be much different.

    Reading Between the Lines

Starc finds it challenging to judge players from current matches. The IND vs ENG 3rd Test conditions don’t represent normal cricket. He thinks teams need to prove themselves elsewhere.

The Australian bowler stays realistic about these batting performances. He knows his home conditions will challenge visiting teams. Starc expects different results when teams visit Australia.
