Jofra Archer is set to make a comeback in the third Test against India from July 10 at Lord’s ground in London.
After four years, this fast bowler is ready to spit fire in Test cricket again.
He last played a Test against India in 2021, and now the same ground, but with new enthusiasm.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test What is special this time?
Archer has been included in England’s playing XI this time in place of Josh Tongue. Tongue took 11 wickets in this series, but now it is Archer’s turn, who can give sleepless nights to batsmen with his speed and bouncers.
The 30-year-old bowler has performed brilliantly for England in 13 Tests, but injuries kept him out for a long time. Stress fractures in the back and other injuries affected his career, but Archer did not give up.
He made a comeback in ODIs and T20s in May last year, and is now ready to take the field with the red ball.
Why does Ben Stokes trust Archer?
England captain Ben Stokes is overjoyed at Archer’s return.
He said, “The way Jofra made a comeback after battling injuries is amazing. He changes the game as soon as he comes on the field.”
Stokes is confident that Archer will once again show the fire of the 2019 Ashes, when he troubled the batsmen a lot at Lord’s. Stokes also said that he will keep an eye on Archer’s spells so that his fitness remains intact.
“We will see the situation moment by moment. If Jofra is moving towards the wicket, then maybe he will be allowed to bowl one or two more overs,” Stokes said smiling.
IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Changes in England team
England has also included Gus Atkinson for this Test, so that the burden of fast bowlers is reduced. India had equaled the series 1-1 by winning at Edgbaston in the last Test, so now the battle at Lord’s is going to be even more exciting.
England’s playing XI includes stalwarts like Jack Crowley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root and Stokes, and now Archer’s speed will make this line-up more dangerous.
For now, the remaining three Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will be played at Lord’s (10-14 July), Old Trafford (23-27 July) and The Oval (31 July-4 August).
Archer’s return has raised England’s hopes, and fans are waiting for the magic he can spread with his balls.
