Bad news came for Indian cricket fans on the fourth day of the ongoing third Test match between India and England at the historic Lord’s ground in London. Star fast bowler Akash Deep had to leave the field limping due to injury.

Akash’s Sparkling Spell Ends in Painful Exit

Akash Deep may not have taken many wickets in this Test, but on the fourth day he took the valuable wicket of English batsman Harry Brook.

Harry had hit three consecutive fours to Akash in the previous over, but Akash did not give up and blew away Brook’s middle stump with brilliant bowling. This wicket was a kind of revenge for him.

But after this his fitness left him. Akash was seen in trouble during Mohammad Siraj’s bowling in the 32nd over. After the informal drinks break, he limped off the field.

Akash’s injury has increased the tension of the Indian team management. There is no official information about the severity of his injury so far, but if he is unable to play further, it will be a big setback for India.

Akash Deep is known for his speed and accurate line-length in this series. In his absence, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj may face more bowling pressure.

Commentators puzzled over unexpected drinks break

During this incident, there was a stir in the commentary box as well. Michael Atherton questioned the drinks break and said,

“What is this? It’s lunch now and drinks break after half an hour?”

His comment went viral on social media. Sky Sports Cricket shared it in a funny way and wrote, “Athers, never change!”

For now, the news of Akash Deep’s injury has also upset the fans. People on social media are praying for his speedy recovery.

The Indian team is giving a tough fight to England in this Test, and is performing brilliantly under the leadership of Jasprit Bumrah along with young players like Nitish Kumar Reddy, Yashasvi Jaiswal. But Akash’s injury has increased everyone’s concern.

Now everyone’s eyes are on how serious his injury is and whether he will be able to return to this Test.
