Siraj got punished for celebrating after taking Ben Duckett’s wicket. The Indian fast bowler showed too much excitement according to match officials. ICC took 15% of his match money and gave him penalty points.

What Happened During the IND vs ENG 3rd Test

Mohammed Siraj bowled out Ben Duckett during the Lord’s Test match. The Indian bowler celebrated this wicket with lots of energy and passion. His celebration looked a bit aggressive to the match referees watching.

ICC officials said Siraj broke their conduct rules with his celebration. They claimed his actions might make the dismissed batsman angry. The cricket board fined him money and added demerit points.

Siraj’s celebration happened right after he took an important wicket. Many bowlers celebrate wickets in similar ways around the world. But this time, officials decided to punish the Indian player.

Stuart Broad watched this incident and felt it was unfair. He believes cricket players should express their emotions naturally. The former England star thinks ICC treated Siraj too harshly.

Broad Points Out ICC’s Double Standards

Broad criticizes Siraj’s fine and mentions other similar incidents too. He talked about Shubman Gill using bad language on live television. Gill did not get any punishment for his words.

“Find this ridiculous. Siraj 15% for aggressive celebration. Gill swears live on TV & carries on and what? It’s either both or neither. Players aren’t and shouldn’t be robots but consistency is key,” Broad said.

This difference in treatment made Broad question ICC’s fairness completely. He wonders why some players get punished while others escape. The former bowler believes officials should treat all players equally.

Broad thinks cricket authorities pick and choose their punishments randomly. He wants consistent rules that apply to every player. This would make the sport fairer for everyone involved.

    Players Are Human, Not Machines

Stuart Broad made an important point about cricket players’ emotions. Broad criticizes Siraj’s fine because players are not robots or machines. They have feelings and natural reactions during intense matches.

The former England star believes celebrating wickets shows passion for cricket. He thinks ICC should allow players to express happiness naturally. Taking wickets in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test requires hard work.
