The former Indian captain believes patience is very important for young cricketers. He specifically talked about Shubman Gill and his leadership role. Dev thinks the England series teaches valuable lessons to Indian players.

Kapil Dev Supports Young Captain Shubman Gill

Kapil Dev asks critics to be patient with Shubman Gill. The young captain leads the Indian cricket team in this difficult series. Dev believes Gill’s leadership experience will help him grow as a player.

“Give him time. This is his first series. He will make mistakes, but there will also be many positives. What matters is that he learns from those mistakes,” Kapil said.

He knows that young players make mistakes during tough matches. However, Dev sees many positive things in Gill’s captaincy style. The England series gives Gill chances to learn from challenging situations.

“This is a young team, and they are getting opportunities. In the coming days, these players will start winning. It takes time for a new team to adjust. Gill is a new captain, and this series will be a big learning step for him,” he said.

India trails 1-2 in the current series, with the fourth Test happening now. Dev still supports the young team and their learning journey. He wants fans to give time to these emerging cricketers.

Jadeja vs Stokes: Kapil Dev’s Bold Comparison

Dev made an interesting comparison between two famous all-rounders. He said Ben Stokes is a good player, but Ravindra Jadeja performs better. This statement has created buzz among cricket fans worldwide.

“Stokes is a good all-rounder, but I still feel Jadeja is ahead. He is performing far better.” Kapil Dev said.

Dev believes Jadeja’s overall performance puts him ahead of Stokes. Both players bowl well and bat in crucial situations. However, Jadeja’s consistent form gives him the edge over Stokes.

The cricket legend praised both players for their different skills. Stokes brings energy and fighting spirit to England’s team. Jadeja offers steady performance and reliable bowling for India.

Encouraging New Talent and Managing Stars

Kapil Dev also spoke about fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s unique bowling style. He praised Bumrah’s commitment and special bowling action in matches. However, Dev wants proper workload management for the star bowler.

Debutant Anshul Kamboj received encouragement from the cricket legend too. Kamboj took 1/89 in his first Test match performance. Dev told him to focus on future potential rather than immediate results.

“What do you expect from a debutant, that he takes 10 wickets? The result may not be great, but I believe the ability is there, and that’s more important.” Kapil Dev on Ansul Kamboj.

The former captain wants support for all emerging players in high-pressure games. He believes understanding works better than criticism for young cricketers. Dev’s message promotes patience and long-term thinking in Indian cricket.
