The visuals showed blood on his sock, sparking fears that the injury might be more serious than it initially appeared. According to initial reports, it could be a toe fracture or a deep bruise, but the team is awaiting scan results before making a formal statement.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill were seen consulting team physios immediately after the incident. With a crucial Test match underway and the series tied at 1-1, Pant’s sudden exit could significantly impact India’s plans going forward.
Pant’s exit comes at a critical moment in the India vs England 2025 Test series, with the teams tied 1-1 and this match is do-or-die Test match of the series.
His departure broke a promising partnership with debutant Sai Sudharsan, and although India ended the day at 264 for 4, losing Pant was a psychological and tactical setback.
For now, India and its fans can only hope the scans bring good news and that Rishabh Pant, once again, shows the same fighting spirit he’s known for.
His presence, both as a player and a personality, is irreplaceable—and Indian cricket would surely want him back on the field as soon as possible.
If Pant doesn’t take part in the remainder of fourth Test then Dhruv Jurel will once again keep the wickets for India.
The Team Management is expected to release an official medical update on Pant’s condition within the next 24 hours.”
