India lost the first Test against England at Headingley in Leeds. England has taken a 1-0 lead in this five-match series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. But the morale of the Indian team is still high.

Especially in the absence of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, the team’s enthusiasm has not diminished. Coach Gautam Gambhir has made it clear that Bumrah will play only three Tests, so that his workload can be managed.
In such a situation, the rest of the bowlers are getting a chance, and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is ready to grab this opportunity with both hands.

Speaking to reporters in Birmingham, Prasidh Krishna said,
“We have created a culture where we learn from each other. Bumrah may not play some matches, but he talks to us constantly. I have been a part of this team for the last few years, and our coordination is excellent.”
Prasidh believes that you get experience only on the field, and he is ready for it.
He said, “Siraj has played many matches, and the rest of the bowlers are also ready. This is a great opportunity for us.”
England’s victory was indeed historic. Chasing the target of 371 runs, England scored 373/5. Ben Duckett (149) and Joe Root (53*) batted brilliantly, while Jamie Smith finished the match with a six.
India scored 835 runs thanks to two centuries by Rishabh Pant, but two big collapses in batting (7 wickets for 41 runs and 6 wickets for 31 runs) made the path to defeat easy.

Dressing room atmosphere
Prasiddha completely rejected any tension in the dressing room.
He said, “Our dressing room is still positive and motivated. We tried to come back in difficult situations many times. We did not give up till the end.”
Prasiddha also talked about his bowling. His economy rate (6.40 and 6.10) may have been a bit high, but he is working hard to improve it.
“I want to improve my length and line. The outfield was fast, and some balls were not in my control. But one has to take risks to take wickets,” he said.
Praising new Test captain Shubman Gill, Prasidh said,
“Gill managed the bowlers brilliantly. He always talks to us and brings the right bowler at the right time.”
Prasidh said that Gill has created a great atmosphere in the dressing room.
“He gives every bowler a chance and openly discusses our strategy. We are also working hard on batting in the nets. Gill assures us that believe in your skills, the runs will come automatically.”
Prasidh said that India has every chance to make a comeback in the Edgbaston Test.
“We are not afraid of defeat. Our plan is clear, and we will show a better game in the next Test.”
With Gill’s captaincy and team unity, India is ready to level the series.
