Rishabh Pant created a stir on the Lord’s ground, in the third Test match between India and England, this dashing batsman not only surprised everyone with his batting, but also made many big records in his name.

Pant made the record of hitting the most sixes in Tests against England and also broke a decade-old record of his hero MS Dhoni.
Which record of Dhoni did Pant break?
Pant played a stormy innings of 74 runs off 112 balls at Lord’s, which included two skyscraper sixes. With these sixes, he surpassed West Indies legend Vivian Richards, who had 34 sixes against England.
Pant now has 35 sixes to his name, the most by any batsman in Tests against England. Not only this, he equaled Rohit Sharma by hitting 88 sixes in just 46 Tests.
Now he is just two steps away from Virender Sehwag’s record of 90 sixes.
Dhoni’s record shattered
Pant’s wonders did not stop here. He made the record of the Indian wicketkeeper scoring the most runs in a Test series in England. By scoring 416 runs in three matches, he broke Dhoni’s record of 349 runs made in 2014.
Pant has become the first visiting wicketkeeper to score more than 400 runs in a Test series in England.
Pant showed strength despite injury
Despite suffering a finger injury on the first day, Pant did not lose courage. He troubled the bowlers with his aggressive batting style. But the end of his innings was a bit sad.
He was run out while trying to take a quick single on the last ball, when Ben Stokes made a brilliant throw from the cover.
Pant has performed brilliantly in his eight Test innings in England. His last eight innings include 50, 146, 57, 134, 118, 25, 65 and 74 runs. That is, 50+ scores eight times in 22 innings! This equals Dhoni’s record.
