The 24-year-old star touched triple figures in the 51st over and gave Indian fans a chance to rejoice.
Yashasvi was dismissed cheaply in the first innings, but he made a strong comeback in the second innings and put India in a strong position.

Yashasvi’s brilliance against England
Yashasvi has an amazing record against England. He enjoys scoring runs against the Three Lions. Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad said on air,
“His love affair with England continues.”
And indeed, Yashasvi again gave England a hard time with his bat.
After completing the century, Yashasvi took off his helmet and gloves and sent a flying kiss towards the dressing room and made a heart sign.
Coach Gautam Gambhir’s smile and thunderous applause in the dressing room made the atmosphere more colorful.
How did India break its own record?
Indian batsmen did wonders in this series. By scoring 12 centuries in the entire series, India broke its old record of 11 centuries made against West Indies in 1978.
Not only this, this is the third highest number of centuries in a single Test series. Australia and West Indies are on top in this matter by scoring 21 centuries in 1955.
Yashasvi scored 82 runs in his century from behind the square, which is the highest score of any batsman at the time of completing a century.
How did Shubman Gill remain behind?
Shubman Gill missed out on breaking Sunil Gavaskar’s record this time. Gill scored 754 runs in this series, but could not break Gavaskar’s record of 774 runs made against West Indies in 1971.
Gill was sent to the pavilion early in the second innings by England’s fast bowler Gus Atkinson. His inswing ball pierced Gill’s defense.
How was Akash Deep’s performance?
India’s nightwatchman Akash Deep also surprised everyone. He put England on the backfoot by scoring his first Test half-century.
His innings created a wave of happiness in the Indian dressing room. This explosive performance of Yashasvi and the Indian team is no less than a treat for the fans.
