India will take on South Africa in the 1st T20I of a four-match series at Kingsmead, Durban, set to start on November 8. Under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership India’s T20I side has been strong, with no series losses so far since he took over as captain.

Since winning the T20 World Cup 2024, India has seen big changes, as senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja have retired from T20Is making room for younger talent.

New players like Yash Dayal and Ramandeep Singh may debut in this game. Yash Dayal impressed with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2024 IPL and has shown skill in swinging the new ball as well as bowling with variation in the death overs making him a reliable pace option for the match in Durban.

Ramandeep Singh, who played well for Kolkata Knight Riders and India A in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024, has made a name as a lower middle-order power-hitter and dependable fielder. His versatility could make him a valuable addition to India’s lineup for this series.

Sanju Samson is expected to open, following his century against Bangladesh, likely paired with Abhishek Sharma at the top. Captain Suryakumar Yadav will probably bat at number 3.

Tilak Varma might make his comeback after 10 months, having last played against Afghanistan in January. His strong performance with India A could earn him a spot in the lineup.

Axar Patel, who last played during the Sri Lanka tour, might also return, adding depth with both bat and ball to counter South Africa’s strong lineup.

Arshdeep Singh is set to continue as the main fast-bowling option, while Ravi Bishnoi could serve as the team’s leg-spin choice.

India’s Predicted Playing XI for 1st T20I against South Africa: Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (C), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Ramandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Yash Dayal
